Alek
Aleksandar Duric is A Violist, Violinist, Conductor and Producer, a native of Serbia, where he completed his primary and secondary education as well as two years at the Belgrade Music Academy.
Mr. Alek Djuric emigrated to the United States during the Balkans’ turbulent 1990s. Here, he continued his undergraduate education on a full scholarship to the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, where he majored in Viola and Conducting, studying under Toby Apple. Upon completing his Bachelor of Music degree, he was admitted on a full scholarship to the University of Miami, where he studied under Pamela McCarthy.
After completing an engagement as a member of the renowned New World Symphony, Mr. Djuric became a teacher in 2002, running a music magnet program at South Miami K-8 Center. At this time, he also launched his own business, Ludilo Sound Design (presently Doll&Alek Entertainment), composing original music for radio, film, television and the Web, which continues to be a successful enterprise.
In 2009, Mr. Djuric obtained National Board Certification in Music Education and began teaching at Miami Arts Charter School. An actively performing Strings and Electronic Music he is also an Orchestral Manager for Miami Classical Music Festival.
